Alongside this, Gunk was appointed as Minister of Culture, where he both created the position of Batuan Cultural Representative, and organised the Dahkmir Festival. During this time, Gunk also adopted Cubism, becoming a Priest and attending it's ceremonies.įollowing the WPA's entrance into Parliament, Gunk began to write and campaign for a variety of legislation and policy changes, including the Rights and Freedoms Bill, Ecological Preservation Bill, and Social and Labour Regulations Bill. An ideology based on Democratic and Market Socialism, and united but separate leftist movements. These demonstrations, combined with Government talks between Azcoria and Batu, resulted in the independence of Azcoria, and inspired Gunk to create the ideology of Unitist Socialism. The two organised a variety of protests and demonstrations, including the occupation, and following riots, of the Horizonte Saki Bar, and the March on Lazodi. AIM, or the Azcorian Independence Movement, in particular came about after discussions between Paying and Gunk, both of which wanted the independence of Nova Azcoria. Helping form a variety of organisations dedicated to either involving themselves or reporting on Azcorian politics, these organisations include, SELWA (then NALWA), AIM, and Red Quill. Gunk, leading the Socialist wing, split from the party and formed the Worker's Party of Azcoria (WPA).Īfter the WPA failed to get into Parliament, Gunk shifted their attention towards activism and protest. Here Gunk continued to hone his writing skills, alongside doing odd jobs to provide for themself and Errico, who had become sick in his old age. Gunk's mother, similarly, died in the ensuing carnage of the battle, leaving Gunk in the hands of Errico.Īfter becoming an orphan, Errico and Gunk joined the Azcorian refugees and fled to present day Horizonte. During the war, his father was conscripted to fight in the Azcorian military, dying in the Battle of Prosperíta. Though his family was far from rich, Gunk's childhood was comfortable and didn't experience much tragedy, until the Azco-Kaladianian War. In writing Gunk found one of his passions, and when his mother told him stories of the USSE, her motherland, and it's revolution, he discovered his second, socialist, passion. Alongside being taught building skills, Gunk was taught by a family friend, Errico, how to read and write. Being apprenticed to their father, Crag, and helping him build or repair various buildings in Prosperíta. Born to two Slimes in Old Azcoria, Gunk was originally raised in a builder family.
